SABLE-3, a balloon launch to space

6300 feetDo you want to see something neat and cool? Go to the web site of the Southern Alberta Balloon Launch Experiment (SABLE) #3 for some ‘out of this world’ images. The radio club launched a weather balloon from east of Edmonton in August. It carried a payload of a digital camera and some other gear to record images of the ascent and descent. The trip was very successful, the balloon reaching 117,000+ feet before the balloon exploded. Have a look! The images may take time to load but they are worth it.

Well done!

So, what’s wrong with that?
